Young At Heart (formerly Apostolate for Older Adults) serves the senior citizens of our parishes through a monthly gathering the first Thursday of every month. Seniors meet for Mass at 12:10 PM, followed by a catered meal in Holy Family Hall and a program or activity. These gatherings are open to anyone in the Winona Catholic Community. The luncheon is paid for by a free-will offering of $5.00. Please make reservations by noon on the Tuesday preceding the luncheon by calling one of the following:

Would you enjoy planning programs and activities for Young At Heart (YAH)? Consider joining the YAH Steering Committee. We meet about 4 times a year on the first Thursday of the month to plan social and spiritual gatherings for older adults of our faith communities. Contact Laurie Watson (452-4770) to inquire further.

Young At Heart outreach ministries include:

Bereavement Committee: This outreach service provides food for Cathedral parish families, in their homes, at the time of death of a family member. The food is delivered to the home a day or two prior to the funeral.

Birthday Card Outreach: Birthday cards are sent to senior Cathedral parishioners and to the priests, deacons, and seminarians of the Winona diocese.

Diner’s Club: Seniors gather at a local dining establishment on the fourth Thursday of the month for lunch and socializing. For information please call Mary Northam at 452-6132. Everyone is welcome.

Exercise Group: Seniors meet every Tuesday and Friday from 1:15—1:45 p.m. (September - May). This is a video approach to exercise offered by Gunderson Lutheran, consisting of stretching and lifting with small weights. If you have arthritis, this is what you need! All in the community are welcome. Contact Marge Zittel (454-3433) for further information.

Callista Court: This is a time to connect with Catholics now residing at Callista Court. We gather on the second Friday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Volunteers serve the treat and visit with the residents. A short prayer time begins the hour. For more information about this outreach, call Laurie at the parish office (452-4770).

Outreach to Cathedral Members Residing at St. Anne’s Hospice: We host a social hour on the third Wednesday of the month at 2:30 p.m. in the main dining room. Volunteers assist in gathering residents and especially with one-on-one visiting. Residents enjoy connecting with people from their parishes and old neighborhoods. If interested in assisting with this outreach, please call Ellen Enright (452-6564).

Rosary: The rosary is led by a parish volunteer each week at Lake Winona Manor. For information please call Laurie at 452-4770.

Vatican II Study Group: This group meets in the St. Augustine Room at 9:15 a.m. twice monthly on Thursday mornings. They read and reflect on a variety of spiritual books. All are welcome. For more information please call Mary Ann Fuchsel (452-6980).
